NUS Student Chapter of the ACM, Code for a Cause (CFC) is a member group of the student organization NUS Student Chapter of the ACM. Started in the Academic Year 2012/13, the group aims to create an environment with numerous opportunities to learn and apply programming skills by undertaking real life projects. We hope to contribute positively to the society by taking up projects which require technical expertise from NGOs or social enterprises. We also hope to take up projects that can help the NUS student community.

Bagosphere

Currently, we are working on a pilot project from a social enterprise called Bagosphere. This company aims to train high school graduates from the rural areas in Philippines to become call centre employees. We are presently helping them to create a virtual learning environment which will enable them to make their training process more effective and efficient. This pilot will help us identify the key challenges that we face during the course of a project and enable us deliver better in the future projects.
